Our Visit with Charlie
After reading Chester and Gus, a wonderful book about the relationship between an autistic boy and his seizure therapy dog we were able to meet a real working therapy dog: Meet Charlie, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Boy was he sweet!
MiSci Field Trip
What a great time we had at the museum. We participated in a junior-crime investigation dealing with DNA and finger print recognition, explored the hands-on stations throughout the museum, and we even got to spend time in the Planetarium.

What's New in the Curriculum
Geometry
Throughout the final module in math, students will be exploring the world of polygons. We will learn how to define a polygon based on it's attributes: Parallel lines, right angles, and so much more!
Research Time
For the next few weeks, we'll continue to conduct research based on an "I wonder" question we have developed about our animals. Have you ever wondered why snakes don't have external ears? Do they have ears at all? Do you know why an African Elephant has much larger ears than an Asian Elephant? These are the types of questions our students are researching. After listening in on their conversations, it's easy to see that they are well prepared for the fourth grade!
