Weekly Junior High Update
January 25, 2019
Future Junior High Night
If you know of any families that are interested in joining out OI Junior High family, please encourage them to join us for a night of fun and information! Next Tuesday, January 29th we will kick of this informative event at 6:00 in our gym. Hear from scholars, staff, and administration and find out everything that makes our school special. We look forward to meeting our future families!!
Math Talks
Learning is social and sometimes talking through problems and describing how you came to the solution can help other scholars understand a concept better or help them learn how to approach a problem from a different perspective.
Fitness Testing
Throughout the year, our scholars assess their progress on their goals to becoming more fit. We all know fitness is more fun when you can work out together. Way to go scholars!
Competition and Practice
In Spanish, scholars practice their vocabulary and compete against their class members to earn the top spot on the rankings board. Adding a level of competition and technology make practicing vocabulary much more engaging and fun!
Looking at the data & setting goals
Last year's AZMerit results were passed out to scholars during the beginning of this year. In the upcoming week, we are going to revisit and analyze the results with scholars in class to set an individual goal/action plan to help scholars prepare not only for the upcoming AzMerit assessment but also for next year. Our goal is to utilize these results in a constructive manner to enhance scholar's confidence in math and elevate their motivation.
