Weekly News and Notes - January 13th through January 17th
Welcome Miss McLaughlin!
Titus Elementary is happy to welcome Miss Molly McLaughlin to the Titus family. Pending School Board approval next Tuesday, Molly will be Titus Elementary's new Quest teacher. We are excited to have Miss McLaughlin begin at Titus and we wish her the best for the remainder of the school year.
Please see the "Welcome" note below from Miss McLaughlin:
Hello Titus families! My name is Molly McLaughlin and I am so excited to be back at Titus, this time as the QUEST teacher for the remainder of the school year! I attended Titus as an elementary student myself and attribute a lot of my success to many of the elementary teachers still here. I graduated from Penn State in 2018 where I received my bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. In my free time I love to read good books, put together puzzles, and travel when I can. I look forward to working with all of your children!

Community Connections
Dear Titus Elementary School Families,
Please join me in the Titus library on January 21st from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. for this school year’s first “Community Connections” meeting.
Last year, we initiated these meetings in order to encourage frank conversations about a shared vision for the future of our schools. I was grateful for the feedback and ideas that our families shared and I look forward to this year’s sessions! I hope you can find time to attend.
A video introduction may be seen on the website at www.cbsd.org/communityconnections.
Stay Well,
John J. Kopicki, Ed.D.

Box Tops for Education
The winners of our 1st trimester contest, Mrs. Williamson’s 4th grade class, enjoyed a pizza party!
Have you downloaded the Box Tops for Education App? Are you scanning your receipts for Box Tops earnings? Are you clipping any remaining paper Box Tops on your products at home? Our 2nd trimester contest is underway… Which classroom will win the soft pretzels?
One month in, here are the standings:
1st place: Mrs. Duffy with $4.30
2nd place: Miss Anderson with $2.60
3rd place: Mr. Lesher with $2.20
4th place: Miss Henry with $1.60
There is still plenty of time to scan and clip. Clipped Box Tops will be collected from classrooms in February. Your receipts can be scanned into the Box Tops app every day!
Winter Enrichment
This year, Titus’s Winter Enrichment Program will be facilitated by the Central Bucks Community School. Four programs will be offered beginning the week of 1/27/2020. This year’s programs include Sports Spectacular (Grades K to 2), Sports Spectacular (Grades 3 to 6), Cheerleading (Grades K – 6) and Bricks 4 Kidz (Grades 1 to 6). Flyers with information about each activity can be found in the Community Activities section at the bottom of this newsletter, or you can find information online by visiting https://www.cbsd.org/domain/78.
The Home & School Association is forming a committee to begin work this spring on Winter Enrichment Program for the 2020 – 2021 school year. Volunteers are needed for approximately 1 hour per month (April through October) to help plan the activities for students and contact vendors. If you are interested in being part of this committee, please email Angela McGettigan at vp2@titushsa.com. No experience is necessary and all are welcome.
