Non-Violent Crisis Prevention Intervention

I was able to be trained on Friday in CPI. Jose, Laura and I were engaged in looking for antecedents, using positive de-escalation tactics, and ultimately knowing our students in order to provide a safe environment for all. As we were working through the units, my biggest takeaway is that relationships truly matter. From the work we are doing on trauma to building connections through our EL curriculum, all of our building goals have a foundation of relationships. I hope the video below gives you a clear insight into what CPI is. We spent 7 hours on language and environment and 1 hour on holds. That ratio should help you understand the focus of CPI.
