Notes from Dr. Sullivan
Halloween Costume Parade - Parents are invited to come to watch our "outside" costume parade on October 29 at 3:25. Weather permitting students will exit the building on the west side and walk south down 152nd to Drexel, then along Drexel turning at the driveway and proceeding back inside the front doors of the building. The conclusion of the parade should be right at dismissal time. Students will go back to the classroom and wait for the final bell and dismiss as usual. I would ask that parents wait outside for their children. We do not have enough office staff to call down students for early dismissal at the end of the parade.
Halloween Costume Guidelines - Students will be allowed to bring costumes for the Halloween parties and the costume parade on October 29th. As you are thinking about costumes please follow these guidelines.
Costumes should be age appropriate, no weapons, no fake blood. Questions about costumes may be directed to Dr. Sullivan before the parties. On the day of the parade, questionable costumes will be sent to the office and phone calls made home.
No face makeup will be used for the school parade. It is uncomfortable and disruptive to wear all day. Students will not be allowed to put on face paint or hairspray at school.
We do not have enough restroom space for all students to change into their costume in the privacy of a restroom. Students should be able to put their costume on in their classrooms.
