The Character Education Theme of the Month for June is “Pride”
Dear Families,
The character education theme of the month for June is “Pride”. We have defined pride as “Celebrating all of your identities and accomplishments''. This month students will engage in conversations, activities, and lessons focussed on celebrating their accomplishments and being proud of their unique identities.Through these lessons and activities, students will explore what makes each of them special. Students will demonstrate pride in how they look, their individual achievements, their religion, their families, culture, skin color, how they identify, and their very unique personalities. They will discuss the importance of appreciating and taking pride in themselves as well as appreciating the special and unique qualities of their peers, siblings, and people in their greater community. We invite families to engage in conversations with their children to strengthen their understanding of the importance of pride and acceptance in themselves as well as others!
Estimadas familias,

Jane Shapiro Care & Share Program
The Jane Shapiro Care and Share began in 1995 as a Dunning School community service project. Each month a specific food item is collected at the school to help keep A Place to Turn's shelves stocked. Donations are gathered up by the students and then with help from staff, they are delivered to A Place to Turn.
