SPS METCO FAMILY BOWLING EVENT
6TH GRADE DANCE/FUNDRAISER - FRIDAY, JANUARY 31, 2020
On Friday, January 31st, from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Curtis will host a dance for our 6th grade students. The theme of the dance is Mismatched Attire and kids are encouraged to dress up in a mismatched way (plaid and Hawaiian, stripes and polka dots, tie and a t-shirt, etc.). The dance will take place in the cafeteria and there will be a DJ playing music.
The dance has been organized by the Curtis Angels and proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the Be Like Brit Foundation, which is a home for children in Haiti. Admission is $10 (cash only) and tickets will be sold during the school day Tuesday, January 28th through Thursday, January 30th.
Students who bring one of the follow items to the dance will be entered into a raffle for an iTunes gift card: package of paper plates, package of plastic forks/spoons, soap, shampoo, deodorant. Prizes will also be given to the 6th graders wearing the best mismatched attire.
Light refreshments (chips and water) will be served at the dance that may not be safe for all students to eat. Please advise your child accordingly. You are welcome to send a snack with your child if you have allergy concerns.
Several Curtis staff members will be in attendance but we also need parents/guardians to be chaperones at the dance. To be a chaperone, parents will need to have a current CORI form on file. If you are interested in being a chaperone, please email Ivar Henningson, Curtis Angels Faculty Advisor. If you have other questions about the dance, please contact Ivar Henningson.

Curtis Amazon Wish List
Thank you to everyone who supported the Curtis Amazon Wishlist this holiday season! Thanks to your generosity, over 50 items worth around $700 were distributed to teachers and staff. These included curricular enrichment items (books, classroom posters/displays, and science materials), games for team time, comfy seating for reading, and even some coffee to help teachers and staff stay warm and caffeinated on these cold winter mornings! The wish list will remain open throughout the year, with an additional reminder during Teacher Appreciation Week. Thank you again for your generosity and support, and special thanks to Kathy Dellicker in the main office who did a lot of the behind-the-scenes work to make this initiative possible!
Direct Appeal
Thank you to families who have already contributed to our 2019-20 CPO Direct Appeal! Your donations help to provide enrichment activities and fund classroom resources and initiatives NOT covered in the SPS budget. Our goal is to get 100% participation this year! If you have not yet donated, please take a moment to write your check or donate online. Simply click here. We suggest a $75 donation - but no donation is too small - and all are appreciated!
If you prefer to send in a check, please print this document. Thanks in advance for your contribution!
Save the Date!
The 6th grade social will be held on Friday, March 27, 5:30-7:30pm, at Curtis. Beach party theme, with food, music, games, photo booth, and more. Sponsored by the CPO. Details coming soon!
