Conroe High School Tiger Tracks
February 12, 2023
Hello Conroe Tiger Family,
We hope that everyone had a great weekend! We are excited to watch and cheer for all our students that are participating in Spring Sports and activities. There is something for everyone, and we appreciate your involvement and commitment to success. Please come out and support all of our Tigers!
Here are a few updates and reminders:
Progress Reports and Grading Period - The last day of the second 3 week grading period for the third nine weeks was Friday, February 10, 2023.. Students who are ineligible can regain eligibility if they are passing all classes. Students become eligible at 2:35pm on Friday, February 17, 2023
Four Day Weekend - This is a reminder that Friday February 17th is a Staff Development Day for Staff. Students have no school on Friday, February 17th or Monday, February 20th.
School Start Time - Please remember that our first period class begins at 7:15 A.M. Plan on getting ahead of the traffic.
Class of 2024 - You and your parents are invited to attend a district wide event for only juniors and their parents on March 1, 2023. Junior Jumpstart is an annual event set up like a conference where you and your parents will have the opportunity to visit three different sessions to learn about different topics related to college and other options after high school. Each of the sessions will be presented by a college representative or a professional in a particular career field. This event will be held at the new Jett Center by Woodforest Bank Stadium. You do not want to miss this event!
Deliveries - Parents, as a reminder we do not accept food deliveries from companies such as DoorDash and Uber Eats. Food being delivered must come from a parent/guardian.
Student Dropoff In The Morning
CHS-9 Parents, please only drop your students off at the front of the school. Enter the school at the entrance that has the marquee. Do not enter and drop off in faculty parking lots. We have buses that drop off in these areas before school and it creates a safety hazard for those students. Also, please do not stop on Sgt. Ed Holcomb and drop students off.
CHS Main - Please do not drop your child off on Hwy 105. You may drop your child off in the car rider line in the front of the school or the car rider line off of Wilson. Also, in the front of the building, there is only one lane turning in off of Hwy 105. Please don't ignore the RIGHT TURN ONLY sign in the front. When you do it really holds up our car rider line. Please be kind and follow the directions of the sign!
Tardy Sweeps- We have started Tardy Sweeps at the Main Campus and will begin having them at 9th Grade Campus in the coming weeks! If your child is caught during the sweep they will receive a consequence.
Student Safety - Our number one priority is to keep our students safe at Conroe High School. Please parents, remind your children they are not allowed to leave campus for lunch. If your child walks to school, please remind them to use the cross- walk at a light. If your child is a car rider, please drop them off and pick them up in the car rider line, not HWY 105 or area businesses.
Vape Detectors are active on both campuses: Be advised, campus restrooms are equipped with vape detectors. Students caught in possession of a vape device or under the influence may face severe disciplinary consequences, which may include, ISS/OSS, DAEP and/or expulsion to JJAEP pending an investigation. Please discuss the danger and consequences of vaping with your child.
(*Liquid THC is considered a felony controlled substance . Students caught with a vape device that tests positive for THC could receive a state felony charge, be arrested on campus, and face mandatory expulsion.)
