PROWL Assembly

We kicked off the new semester of PROWL with a quick safari assembly! We celebrated wonderful reading growth with students, explained the importance of PROWL in starting our day off well, and talked about goal setting each and everyday during PROWL. We ended the assembly with a PROWL Howl and are all ready to go this week! Each student is in a PROWL group starting at 7:50 that meets students needs. There are small groups throughout the building working diligently on reading and writing skills while incorporating cooperative learning and STEM activities!

January-Character Education

This month we will focus on the Arkansas Department of Education's topic for January of Character Education. This week I have provided some resources for parents on teaching character education with your children from PBSkids.org

This is a section on Life's Little Lessons. The link can be found here. https://pbskids.org/learn/lifes-little-lessons/

"Life's Little Lessons" is a collection of fun and flexible resources designed for early childhood care providers, based on the hit PBS KIDS show, DANIEL TIGER'S NEIGHBORHOOD. Using Fred Rogers' landmark social-emotional learning curriculum and a series of catchy "strategy songs," the show – and this digital resource – helps young children manage emotions and develop key social and emotional skills while exploring, growing, singing and creating with Daniel Tiger and his pre-school friends.

Daniel Tiger's Life's Little Lessons uses the PBS KIDS model of watch (watching video), play(playing games), explore (engaging in group activities), and share (communicating with families), giving parents and educators the opportunity to work together to put children on the road to success. By watching the included video clips, exploring the topics through conversations and activities, and sharing information and ideas with families, you can help the children in your care develop strategies that they can use every day to grow "inside."

Reminders for Parents-

When dropping off students after the 8:00 bell to start the school day, please walk your student in and sign them in for the day. It is important for safety that they are escorted in after this time.
