The New Inspection Framework
Implications for Good Schools
A one day course designed for schools that are currently judged to be good.
The day will provide an overview of the new inspection process from September 2015, including the Common Inspection Framework and the new HMI led short inspections for existing good schools.
The day will includes separate sessions on:
· the key changes
· the effectiveness of leadership and management and safeguarding,
· personal development, welfare and behaviour
· teaching, learning and assessment.
The day will be led by Joyce Lydford, Ann Longfield, Anna Ljumovic, Mike Smith and Denise Dyer from Octavo and Daniel Davies from Croydon Council.

Outcomes
· Participants will be familiar with the 2015 Ofsted Common Inspection Framework, its changes and its implications for good schools.
· Participants will have an insight into how schools will be evaluated under the new framework.
·To prepare for key threads running through the framework, such as “the golden thread of safeguarding.”
·Participants will explore the requirements of the revised judgements on Personal development, welfare and behaviour, the Effectiveness of Leadership and Management and on Teaching, Learning and Assessment and how schools can work towards meeting them.
