The GUARDian

Notes specific to the Jaguar Guard: 3.20.22

A special note to the JAGuard families!

What an amazing weekend! Not only did we host an amazing event but our JV team earned the title of TCGC West Area Champions! Now both JV and Varsity are off to compete at the TCGC State competition!

Below you will find the information that I have shared before about this weekend. Please know that a detailed schedule will follow as soon as it can be finalized.

Last, I am sure it goes without saying, but just in case...since we are down to the end of the season and these teams have worked so hard to get to where they are going (STATE!), please make sure your student isn't late to or misses any any of the remaining rehearsals! Let's make sure to support them in making the best showing they can at STATE!

Love, Peace, and Winterguard,

TCGC State Competition

TCGC State Competition will take place on Saturday, March 26th at Texas A&M Reed Arena. You can find information about the event and purchase tickets at:

Tickets usually go on sale the Monday before the week's competition! Tickets are $18 (fees will apply). You can purchase them online before the event and/or at the door with credit card or cash.

A more detailed schedule will come out later this week. However, what we do know at this time is that the guards will practice on Friday, March 25 from 4:30pm - 7pm. At that time members will board buses and head to College Station. Boxed dinners will be served as they board the buses.

The team will be staying at the Super 8 by Wyndham at 301 Texas Avenue: 979-846-8800 (

They will return as soon as the retreat has ended and they have changed out of uniform. TCGC has not posted the schedule yet so we do not know exact times but, yes, it will be late!

First – As always...THANK YOU for each of you who show up every Saturday to make sure the productions get on the floor for each of these teams! They couldn’t get it done without you!!

Assignments will be released later this week. In the meanwhile, please know that tickets will be covered for FLOOR CREW volunteers.

Big picture

Big thanks to those of you out there soliciting donations to help send our Varsity team to WGI World Championships! As you can see from our WGI donation thermometer, we are getting closer to reaching our goal! So, please continue to push out social media posts and links for everyone to help send our Varsity to Dayton...THE FIRST TEAM FROM HAYSCISD TO EVER COMPETE AT WGI WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS!

Thanks in advance for your support!

For those of you who attended TCGC at JHS this past Saturday, you got a little taste of the purpose of glow spirit items. The full retreat at state will be much bigger, much darker, and much more exciting so make sure to get your glow on!

Spirit glow items for parents/supporters are now available on our website store! (Don’t buy these for your team member! Each team member will get their own special glow item to use at the competitions)

Remembers that with this being the first year that JHS even gets to go to a state (more or less Worlds) competition, we figured we wanted to go in style! So order yours while supplies last!!

Wonder what TCGC State Championship and WGI World Championship will be like?

Wonder how it will be? Me too! To get an idea, check out this VIDEO of TCGC State competition and this VIDEO of WGI World Championship!

We still have the "prospective color guard" website page. You can find that on the website under "I am a..."

Remind 101

Make sure to receive real time information from Mr. Duffy by signing up for the JAGuard Remind 101. The Class code for the guard Remind 101 is @thejagway. It is not for students only.

Team Moms also post Remind 101 changes in the parent GroupMe as well as information regarding meals and costuming.

Volunteers still need to go through the VIP system. You can find that at:
