Parent's Night Out!

Want to meet other parents and caregivers of Kruse students? Join members of the PTO in the Kruse Media Center from 7-8pm on Wednesday, February 23rd for a mini social. We will have a building tour and a few ice-breaker activities, then feel free to mingle with other adults or chat with the PTO. No RSVP needed.

Note: This is designed as an adult activity, but we all understand if your student needs to come with you. Please be aware that there are no child-oriented activities at this event, and no child-care available.

Kruse Skate Night Success!

Thank you to everyone who was able to attend our Kruse Skate Night at Rollerland on Friday, January 28th. We had a great turnout with 243 skaters, and very positive feedback from both parents and students. In addition to being a ton of fun, this event generated $607 for the Kruse PTO. Thank you to Rollerland for letting us have the rink exclusively for Kruse families.

SAVE THE DATE for our next Kruse Skate Night planned for Friday, April 22, 2023.

The $607 that was raised from Kruse Skate Night has been donated to Mr. Wagner's Music Program for purchase of new sheet music and instruments.

Coffee Truck Love

The Kruse PTO loves to show our appreciation to our teachers, and what better way to show the love than coffee?! We recently brought in the Coffee Stop coffee truck so we could deliver coffee to our teachers. We also had parent volunteers decorate 60 coffee sleeves with notes of gratitude and appreciation to go with those coffees. We love our teachers and we hope they felt the caffeinated love. Thank you so much to our staff appreciation coordinator, Mica Ramsey for this successful event.

Bingo is Back

Thank you to the nearly 200 people who came out for Bingo on Friday night! We had record attendance and filled the cafeteria and part of the gym. We wanted to give a special thank you to our Bingo caller Mr. Dolgin and his wonderful assistant Mrs. Dolgin, as well as a big thank you to Mr. Wood who came to our rescue and printed more bingo cards when we ran out.

Custodian's Office Takeover

The schools staff and PTO rallied together and collected some funds to update Kruse's custodial office. It's just a little thing we could do to show Ron, Kruse's day custodian and Buck the night custodian, how much they mean to us. Most notably new chairs, a new bookcase and epoxy floor. A small difference for two very hard working Kruse Staff members.

Welcome Back Clubs at Kruse

After school clubs are back up and running, and the response has been huge. We are proud to offer these after school clubs this year:

  • BikePath Learning Spanish Club. This club is currently full, but to learn more about the program, check them out here: BikePath Learning
  • Lego Robotics Club - this 6 week session is offered to 4th and 5th graders only. Mr. King will be offering another session later this spring. Stay tuned for more details.
  • Art Club received record sign ups and was split into two sessions. One has already begun and the second session begins after Spring Break. Both sessions are full.
  • Chess Club. If your student is interested in joining Chess Club, please click here.
  • 5th grade Yearbook club

We would love to sponsor a Fitness/Wellness Club and Odyssey of the Mind but we are in need of parent volunteers to organize and run them. If you are interested in helping with the fitness club or Odyssey of the Mind or even have another type of club you would like to see at Kruse contact us at kruse.elementary.pto@gmail.com

Keep an eye on weekly emails for more information about new clubs or openings in exisiting clubs.

*Due to the ever changing pandemic we will adjust club precautions and meetings to best keep your students and our staff safe and healthy.

Read Across Kruse Bookmark Competition

The PTO is holding our annual bookmark competition again during Read Across Kruse. Students have been asked to create fun bookmark designs, and the winners will be printed for everyone. We're asking for the bookmarks to be turned in by Wednesday, February 23 in order for us to vote on the winners, and get the bookmarks made in time for the Read Across Kruse Celebration. We hope your student has fun creating theirs!

Read Across Kruse is next week, and the celebration will be next Friday, March 4th.

PTO Annual Fundraiser

This year our annual fundraiser will be held separately from Read Across Kruse. Our fundraiser this year will be at the end of March beginning of April, stay tuned for more details.

The more people involved the more we can do. Feel free to reach out to us at Kruse.elementary.pto@gmail.com to talk to us about how you can get involved.
