What's Blooming? 1/13/23
A Message from PRINCIPAL FOX...
Just a quick follow up on our newest addition, our Ben Franklin statue...students have enjoyed seeing the newest piece, our namesake. With this...some great questions were posed by several families, one of them being...'what about covering the basketball court?'. As the quotes we've received range from $500,000-$800,000, we will need more than one year of fundraising to accomplish this task. Last year was our first year fundraising towards this initiative. We will continue our fundraising efforts and search for grants that might be able to cover some of the expenses. Thank you for always reaching out for clarification and your continued support!

International Baccalaureate Corner: January's Learner Profile Attribute - Principled
The IB Learner profile aims to develop students who are principled. Students who are principled act with integrity and honesty, with a strong sense of fairness, justice and respect for the dignity of the individual, groups, and communities. They take responsibility for their own actions and the consequences that accompany them.
FAIRNESS: How can we make sure we are treating others fairly?
INTEGRITY: What are ways we can demonstrate integrity in all we do?
HONESTY: In what ways can I demonstrate honesty in my life?
RESPECT: What does respect look like and sound like?
How can families help to develop students who are principled at home?
~What you do as a family matters: How you treat and respond to your child should come from a knowledgeable, deliberate sense of what you want to accomplish.
~You cannot be too loving. It is simply not possible to spoil a child with love. What we often think of as the product of spoiling a child is never the result of showing a child too much love. It is usually the consequence of giving a child things in place of love.
~Connect behavior to the concept of character.
~Provide opportunities for your child to make their own decisions, and discuss the consequences of their decisions.
~ Read and tell stories in which the story characters demonstrate making principled decisions
~ Discuss how being principled is life long commitment and well sought after as a characteristic to have
