A Message from Dr. Hicks

Hello Cougars,

It's hard to believe February is knocking on our door. I look back on the last month, and I am impressed by how hard the JISD staff has worked and humbled by the community support.

We have a lot to look forward to in February. We celebrate Black History Month and our Career and Technical Education Programs. This month we will host two significant events that will continue to support and strengthen our community.

On Wednesday, February 2 at 5:30 pm, we are hosting a ribbon-cutting for the grand opening of the Family Health Clinic at Jarrell ISD. The clinic is a partnership between St. David's Foundation, Bluebonnet Trails, and community-focused organizations. It offers medical care in family, mental and behavioral health. The clinic is open to everyone in our community and makes health care more accessible. These are essential health services that are beneficial to all in Jarrell. There is more information about the ribbon cutting below. This is a remarkable partnership and invite you to join us in celebrating the opening of the Family Health Clinic.

Another community event we launch this week is the family fresh farmers market. It’s called Fresh Food for All. The district teamed up with Hill Country Community Ministries & Wayfinders Church to provide up to 25lbs of free fresh produce. The market is open to all and no documents are required. The farmers market is on the first Saturday of every month. This weekend's market is at 508 N. 5th Street, the Jarrell ISD Annex Parking Lot.

Cougars, these forward-thinking partnerships will connect our families to life-changing services. By working together, we are stronger and better.

Your proud Superintendent,

Dr. Toni Hicks
