Celebrating Student Success!
I am very proud of our fine arts department and our students in orchestra. Way to go Mrs. Malone! You continue to push, teach and direct our student musicians to succeed and become better than before.
See all the awesome accolades below. Go Yearlings!
Teacher of the Year!
Teacher Martin Rodriguez has been selected as Garner's Teacher of the Year! Mr. Rodriguez has been a math teacher at Garner for 15 years. He has taught 6th grade math and Geometry for one year, and 8th grade math and Algebra I since then. Mr. Rodriguez is also an athletics coach and has been in this supplemental role since 2005. He has coached girls' volleyball and basketball for one year back in 2005, and the remaining years since then he has coached boys' basketball and football. This year, Mr. Rodriguez will also coach golf. Mr. Rodriguez has a BBA in Finance and a Master's degree in Accounting from the University of Texas at El Paso. He has been married for 30 years to a great wife and has four wonderful children and one grandchild. All four of his kids graduated from North East schools.
I was fortunate to have been on the committee who hired Mr. Rodriguez 15 years ago, and I am very happy for his continued success at Garner. Mr. Rodriguez has been a dedicated and loyal teacher of this community and will continue to do great things in years to come. On behalf of the faculty and staff at Garner, congratulations Martin for your excellence in education! Go Yearlings!
