It is our job as parents and teachers to help our middle-schoolers feel more secure in themselves, to keep encouraging them, and to help them make positive growth. Affirmations are a great way to offer a little boost and help your teen find confidence in their abilities to navigate the world. Positive affirmations provide emotional support, can put you in a better frame of mind, can be used as reminders or even as a mantra. They are quick and concise, and can be said quietly or out loud. Here are some affirmations to have your student try:
I am enough, I do not have to change myself to be enough.
I believe in me and what I am capable of doing.
I am smart and clever and am willing to learn.
I am strong and steadfast and can overcome adversity.
I am safe and loved. I am important and my presence is important.
I don't have to be perfect all the time, I can let my guard down.
Being scared doesn't make me less, it doesn't make me weak.
I am kind and compassionate.
I am generous and grateful for what I have.
I am a good friend.
I have the courage to share my thoughts and feelings.
It's ok to ask for help.
