Fine Arts Boosters' Mission and Vision

The Orangeville music department serves Orangeville students K-12th grade in music education through elementary music education, 5th-12th bands, 6th-12th choirs, and the yearly spring theater production.

We hope to bring many new educational programs, experiences, and opportunities to the students at Orangeville with the help of our Fine Arts Boosters organization and its volunteers.

Music Department Director - Mr. Collin Zier

Mr. Zier has been teaching the K-12 music program at Orangeville School District for four years. He loves working with the students and instilling a passion for music in them. His goal is to reach more students and teach them the joy of music while continuing to build the Orangeville music department into a thriving space for young people to discover and explore their talents.

Orangeville Theater Production - The Show Must Go On! Part Duex!

Come out and support the Orangeville Theater Department on Friday, March 10th and Saturday, March 11th, as they preform The Show Must Go On! Part Deux! Showtime is 7:00 pm and the production will take place in the Orangeville High School Gymnasium. Tickets can be purchased at the door: $8.00 per ticket, $6.00 for students.

Elementary Fundraising Update

The Fine Arts Boosters would first like to extend a huge 'THANK YOU' to our elementary families, friends, community members, and Orangeville schools' staff for supporting our fundraisers this year. We are deeply grateful for your support in helping us raise funds to purchase an elementary music curriculum. To date, our total amounts to $850.00.

Now for the big update!

The Orangeville School District has partnered with us to provide the remaining funds needed to purchase the ENTIRE elementary music curriculum!

We are very excited to provide this new music curriculum to our elementary students in a much sooner time frame than previously anticipated.

Elementary Music Little Caesars Pizza Kit Fundraiser

Thank you to everyone who sold or purchased from our Little Caesars Fundraiser!

We are excited to announce that we raised $1,548.00 for the elementary music department!

We are working closely with Mr. Zier to purchase further needed elementary music supplies and will let you know what is purchased as the year continues.

Orders will be delivered the week of March 20th. At that time, you will receive an email letting you know orders are in and information about pickup.

High School Solo and Ensemble Contest

On March 3rd, the Orangeville High School band and choir students participated in the Solo and Ensemble Contest at West Carroll High School in Savanna, IL, with 33 other area schools.

The Solo and Ensemble Contest is a day for students to perform previously prepared instrumental or vocal pieces before a judge to be scored and rated by division. Students can choose to perform solos or large/small group ensembles. They are then scored in several areas, including but not limited to rhythm, accuracy to printed pitches, and technique.

We are proud of the band and choir students who participated in this contest! Getting up and performing in front of others and being critiqued is never easy. However, it allows the students to learn valuable information from judges specializing in that specific vocal area or instrumental group with which they are judging. Therefore, this contest provides an excellent opportunity for our students to become better musicians and vocalists.

The performance ratings range from division I (superior) to division V (poor). Orangeville students received 4 division I ratings, 4 division II ratings, 4 division III ratings, and no division IV or V ratings. Furthermore, Mason Raab and Alex Schmidt received a division I rating with a score of 39.5 out of 40 points!
