Who was he?
Alan Turing was born on June 23, 1912, in London. At a young age he displayed signs of high intelligence which some of his teachers recognised, but didn't necessarily respect. When Turing attended the well-known independent Sherborne School at the age of 13, he became particularly interested in math and science.
Alan Turing was a British pioneering computer scientist, mathematician, logician, cryptanalyst and theoretical biologist. He was highly influential in the development of computer science. Turing is widely considered to be the father of theoretical computer science and artificial intelligence. Sadly, he died of cyanide poisoning on the 7th June 1954.
