Benefits of reading

Intro
1.) Enhanced Smarts
It has been a proven fact that people who read have higher GPA's, higher intelligence, and general knowledge than those who don't.
2.) Reduces Stress
If you are having a bad or stressful day, maybe at work or at school, a nice exciting book can easily distract your mind into your book
3.) Greater Tranquility
Even for high energy people, reading can give you that calm, relaxed feeling which forces you to sit still and concentrate.
4.) Improve Anyalytical Thinking
Studies have found that analytical thinking is boosted by reading. People who read will be able to spot patterns quicker, or just improve their general knowledge.
5.) Increased Vocabulary
Reading forces us to look at words that we may not have seen before. Therefore reading increases your vocabulary and spelling
6.) Improved Memory
There hasn't been any hard scientific evidence to prove this, but there have been lots of people who have admitted to stronger memory through reading.
7.) Improved Writing Skills
From reading, as we have gone over, it improves your writing skills because your vocabulary and English is improved through reading.
8.) Builds Self Esteem
By reading more and more, you begin to understand the topics you read about. This expertise begins to turn into self esteem. You become smarter, thus people will come to you for answers, building your self esteem.
