What Have We Been Learning?
Spelling: This week we are focusing on the suffixes -ed and -ing. The words are: acted, printing, drifting, graded, asking, chased, joking, thanked, slammed, and grabbing .
Reading/Writing: This week, we will be reading a humorous nonfiction story titled, The Signmaker's Assistant, from our Scott Foresman reading series. Ask your child how the main character of the story fixes the problems he causes. In writing, we will begin working on personal narratives.
Social Studies: In Social Studies, we will continue learning about economics through Junior Achievement as well as Econ and Me. We will learn about decision trees, opportunity costs, goods, services, products, and human resources.
Math: In Math this week, we will wrap up Unit 6. We will learn about partial sums addition, subtraction number stories, and measurement. Please make sure your child completes their homelink nightly. Also, don't forget, your child can practice basic math facts from home by visiting xtramath.org.
