Think Tank in Third
Weekly Update-April 21, 2017
Week at a Glance
Math- We are continuing to learn about fractions, and are almost finished up with this unit. We will also begin a new E4Tech module next week that will focus on area and perimeter.
Writing- We are working on our classroom book titled T is for Think Tank, modeled after the book B is for Buckeye. This is an alphabet book that is all about things that are important to our classroom. Each student was assigned a letter and is working on a page of the book with a partner. Each page will have a 4-line rhyme, a colorful picture, and information about the word they chose. Students have been so creative and it's been fun to see what is important to them.
Social Studies- Flat Stanley mail is still coming in, but we're slowly getting less and less, as expected. We should be getting the Flat Stanleys back now, as the letter said to send them back in April. If your child did not receive any mail, they are not alone in this. Many students did not receive mail and we talked about how that may happen before we sent them out.
Science- Today we're going to talk about Earth Day and watch a short Magic School Bus video on recycling.
