Mrs. Hogan Makes It In The Angelos
Martha Bowden and I just learned yesterday that we have been selected to present a session at the Leading Future Learning 2014 conference to be held March 6 and 7, 2014 at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA.
The "working" title of our presentation is: "Walk Forward, Turn Right, and Try Again: The Hidden Benefits of Programming" In this session, participants will explore the hidden benefits of habits of mind while teaching programming. Teachers will learn strategies to incorporate programming skills into all core subject areas during this session.
We came up with the idea for this session while working on Hour of Code activities with Primer through Fourth grade students in December. We will showcase many of the activities, reflections, pictures and videos from our coding experience. Hour of Code was very successful at Lower School this year. We hope to make it an annual event. Thank you for supporting this event.
