Orchard Park Elementary
Thanks so much to all Orchard Park students and families for generously donating to both our Personal Care Drive and to the Great Candy Collection.
There will be so many happy senior citizens in York County AND we have collected 221 POUNDS of candy for our service men and women to enjoy when they travel through the Charlotte airport.
Again, we appreciate your support in both of these collections. Have a great weekend.
In the next few weeks, we would like families to work together to create a pinwheel to honor veterans. Students will bring in their completed pinwheels to school by November 7th and their teacher will send their pinwheel to the office to be planted on the hillside for decoration during our Veteran’s Day Parade. This project is meant to unify our school and reinforce the 5 C’s of STEAM, these include Collaboration, Creativity, Critical Thinking, Communication, and Caring.
We have listed resources below, but encourage you to be creative in finding ways to create your pinwheel and to honor veterans. You can choose to honor a family member or symbolize what Veteran’s Day means to you.
Please keep in mind these pinwheels are considered a donation to our Veterans Day Parade. We look forward to celebrating and honoring our veterans with you during our parade on Friday, November 9th.

Our students are really excited about the Sport Stacking unit we are currently doing in PE. Sport Stacking is an exciting sport where students stack and unstack 12-specially designed cups (Speed Stacks). Sport Stacking uses both sides of the body and brain developing important athletic and academic skills. See THIS FLYER for more details about helping your child purchase his own cups.
Our district has created a new and interactive website with cafeteria menus. Some features include:
- nutritional info
- allergy info
- students can select favorite a meal choice so they know when we are having it next as an option, etc
- Parents can “sign up” their child’s name and put any allergies to help guide them.
- Parents can also select multiple schools or print the menu with the “favorite” foods highlighted.
- Parents can download an app with direct access to school menus.
