Dear Families,

Many of our Linden traditions and routines have been interrupted due to the school closure. This includes Move-up Day the final week of June. While we will not have the opportunity to hold this event as if we were back at school, we still want to engage students in the excitement that comes with Move-up Day. To introduce students to their next grade-level team, our teachers created a welcome video message that includes a warm greeting and information about engaging activities that are unique to the grade level. This message will be sent to students on Friday, June 12th @ 9:00 AM.

On Tuesday, August 4th, you will be able to access your child’s teacher/placement for the 2020-2021 school year. More information about how to access the information through the Parent Portal system will be shared in July.

We know that a virtual Move-Up Day does not replace the joy of changing classrooms and meeting next year’s grade level team, but we are hopeful a preview of the curricular themes will give students a welcoming introduction to the 2020-2021 school year.

Pick-up and Drop-off Drive-thru

We will be hosting a drive-thru pick-up and drop-off on two different dates; Monday, June 15th and Tuesday, June 16th. Monday is reserved for 6th grade students and for all families who borrowed a CBSD iPad and/or laptop. Tuesday, June 16th, is reserved for all remaining families. If you prefer to return your child’s borrowed device on the June 16th drive-thru, we will accept items at that time as well.

Pick-up stations will be organized for 6th graders to retrieve promotion/recognition certificates, art folder/artwork, etc. The drop-off stations will be available for return of materials such as textbooks and/or library books. Please place all classroom text books in a bag labeled with teacher name and your child's name. And please do not return consumable workbooks in which student have written.

The drive-thru scheduled for June 15th will run from 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM. In the same manner as our materials pick-up last week, cars should circle our school, follow traffic to the gym side of the playground, and around to the blacktop area behind the school. Signs will indicate pick-up and drop-off locations, and staff will be outside to assist you. To improve traffic flow and reduce your wait time, we ask that you arrive during the window assigned by grade level. Like last week, we will be following the family count model (Plan to arrive at the indicated time of youngest student). If you are unable to arrive during your designated time, you may come during any other time of the drive-thru without prior arrangements. If neither date or times are possible, you can email Mr. Testani: for special arrangements. If you were unable to retrieve your child’s personal belongings during last week’s drive-thru, you may retrieve them during either day.

Drive-thru Monday, June 15th from 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM

  • 6th Grade
  • Families with CBSD Loaner Device

Drive-thru Tuesday, June 16th

  • Grades K & 1: 8:30 AM – 10:00 AM
  • Grade 2: 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
  • Grade 3: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Grades 4, 5 & 6: 12:45 PM – 2:45 PM

Messages From Retiring Linden Leopards

Linden Retirement 2020 Revised

A Message From Linden's School Nurse, Mrs. Bredin

Dear Linden Friends and Families:

I am sad to say that I am retiring at the end of the school year and will miss you all! It's been an honor and privilege to serve as your school nurse.

For Parents:

I will not have access to my email after June 16th. If you have medical forms that you would like to submit over the summer, please send them to Susan Rodgers, . She will give them to the school nurse who will be hired to replace me.

Please stay well and know that I will continue to think about you and wish you all the best!

Tip of the Week from Dr. McIntyre & Dr. Graz

Here’s a final Guidance parent/caregiver message for the Growl for the year. I think the below quote pretty much sums up the year!

“Resilience is accepting your new reality, even if it's less good than the one you had before. You can fight it, you can do nothing but scream about what you've lost, or you can accept that and try to put together something that's good.”
Elizabeth Edwards

Resilience in positive psychology refers to the ability to cope with whatever life throws at you. It is a powerful protective factor when faced with a challenge or setback. Throughout the current Coronavirus Crisis, our Linden Community has demonstrated tremendous resiliency and perseverance. As we wrap up a school year like no other in our collective history, I hope you feel a sense of pride in the resilience displayed by our students, teachers, support staff, and families. While this was not the school year we imagined, and in many ways can be characterized as “less good”, our community pulled together and continued to learn, grow, and celebrate in spite of difficult circumstances. And, as a result, we will emerge even stronger than before.

We wish our Linden Family a safe and joyful summer. You earned it!!

If you need guidance support you can email either Dr. McIntyre or Dr. Graz. We will be checking emails sporadically throughout the summer.

Stay healthy and stay safe.

Farmers Market

CBSD Farmers Market @ Barclay ES

Wednesday, June 17th, 4pm

John Barclay Elementary School, Palomino Drive, Warrington, PA, USA

The CBSD Farmers Market is open! A week after the start of the COVID-19 crisis, we began distributing food every week on Wednesdays at 4:00 at Barclay Elementary School. We believe that in a community as well resourced as ours, no child should ever be hungry. If you find yourself in need, please stop by.

If you find yourself in a position of giving, consider supporting this initiative. Please help us share food with families and children throughout the Central Bucks School District during this crisis! Click HERE to support our Go Fund Me. Thank you for your generosity!

There are more ways than one to support! Check out the list of item donations needed in the flyer below!
