CRAWFORD'S CORNER

Greetings Crockett Community!

I enjoyed meeting so many parents at Back to School Night and our most recent Parent Information Night. Thanks so much to all of you that came out. If you were not able to make it, please remember that if you have any questions you can always reach out to your child's counselor and/or administrator (see contact information at the bottom of the newsletter). We welcome and encourage parent communication, feedback, and involvement.

Last month, I mentioned the importance of PEACE, Crockett's first Core Value. This month, I would like to take time out to reflect on the second Core Value, RESILIENCE. As we know, being a high school student, teacher, and parent can be difficult at times, but know that we get through this journey together as a Crockett family. Maya Angelou said, "I'm not sure if resilience is ever achieved alone. Experience allows us to learn from example. But if we have someone who loves us-I don't mean who indulges us, but who loves us enough to be on our side-then it's easier to grow resilience, to grow belief in self, to grow self-esteem. And it's self-esteem that allows a person to stand up."

Crockett's resiliency is evident particularly this year as we celebrate our 50th Anniversary year. Please make sure you come out to our Homecoming Game October 26th at Burger Center at 7:30pm and invite all former Crockett alumni. We also want to extend an invite to our alumni to the Crockett Open House on October 27th from 12:00-4:00. Please visit the Crockett High School's 50th Year Celebration Facebook Page for more information from alumni about the 50th Anniversary events.

Let's continue to show compassion to one another and build upon our love for our Crockett Family as we continue to grow our own resiliency and remain Always Victorious!
