Adventures in Kindergarten
Winborn Elementary
What are we learning?
Reading
Grab your wands and crowns, we are in the midst of our fairytales unit! Each day, we talk about the fairy tale traits in our stories and even retell our classic tales.
How can I practice this at home?
Read a fairy tale at home and see if your kiddo can identify the good/evil characters, the special setting, the problem and the solution within the text.
Writing
Our writing warriors are working on personal narratives! That means we are writing out full stories including who we were with, where we were, what we were doing, what time of day, and even how we felt.
How can I practice this at home?
Have your child create their own personal narrative at home! Have them remember and create a story that includes who they were with, where they were, what they were doing, what time of day, and how they felt.
Math
Our mathematicians are learning about coins! Each day we break down and learn all about the penny, nickel, dime, and quarter.
How can I practice this at home?
Find coins around the house! Check those cup holders and couch cushions to see if your kiddo can identify each of the 4 U.S. coins.
