HAPPY TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK

Teacher Appreciation Week: The Power of Teachers

“I’ve come to a frightening conclusion that I am the decisive element in the classroom. It’s my personal approach that creates the climate. It’s my daily mood that makes the weather. As a teacher, I possess a tremendous power to make a child’s life miserable or joyous. I can be a tool of torture or an instrument of inspiration. I can humiliate or heal. In all situations, it is my response that decides whether a crisis will be escalated or de-escalated and a child humanized or dehumanized.” Haim Ginott

The quote, "Primum non nocere" is typcially attributed to the hippocratic oath that medical doctors take upon receiving their doctoral degrees, but I would like to think that this is emblazoned on educators minds prior to ever receiving their teaching certificate. "But first do no harm", speaks to the foundation of Midnight Sun Family Learning Center.

Thank you Midnight Sun Staff for keeping the values imbedded in the discipline of teaching.

MAP ASSESSMENTS are done! Parents will receive scores back with your 4th quarter grade reports; you will be able to see the last three assessments taken this year. PEAKs assessment results are typically in by the beginning of June.
