Beck Bulletin "Excellence For All"

Principal's Message
Dear Beck Families,
Please accept my sincere gratitude for your support of our Bulldog Blitz fundraiser. I am continually amazed and grateful for the amount of support that the community provides to our school. It's your commitment to ensuring that our students have cutting edge resources that helps us be successful.
I am excited to add some amazing STEM resources to our classrooms, as well as looking at equipment for students to write and produce a live broadcast for announcements. I will be working with our leadership teams and other teachers to determine which resources can best be utilized in class.
I'd like to give a special thanks to our parent volunteers who put in many hours to make this fundraiser and our Bulldog Blitz event successful. Please help me thank Lauren Johnston, Nicole Arata, and Candace Angelo.

JA in a Day (Junior Achievement)
“Calling all JA Heroes! Volunteers needed to teach Junior Achievement programs at the Beck JA in a Day!! Junior Achievement is a nonprofit, youth development organization; we have in-class K-12 programs that focus on college/work force readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy. JA Programs are fun and easy to facilitate, no teaching experience is necessary! Five lessons are taught over the course of one school day. New volunteers attend a training session to prepare and all materials are provided!” This is a great tradition here at Beck, and our students look forward to our guests each year. A great Thanksgiving feast will be served to show our appreciation!

Fill the Bus!
It is that time of year again for the "Fill the Bus" campaign, Oct. 23rd - Nov. 14th.
"Fill The Bus" encourages the NISD community to donate canned & non-perishable food items to local charities. Donations will help make the holiday season easier for struggling families.
All donations will support local charities. Each school may pick their chosen charity or choose to support Justin & Roanoke Food Pantries.
To make things exciting, we are turning "Fill the Bus" into a competition. When Fill The Bus ends, Durham & Aramark employees will travel to each campus to collect donations. After loading all donations into a school bus, we will weigh each bus. The school with the heaviest bus will win.
Give a little extra to help our community during the holiday season!
The event is sponsored by Durham Transportation & Aramark.
