MAKE students support local charities
The Prefects have been busy this term with their Charity Work. Wood Street Mission is a local children’s charity whose aim is to help children and families affected by poverty in Manchester. Following a series of awareness assemblies and discussion groups, the Prefects of MAKE House rallied students to donate toys, books, games, tins of food, biscuits and sweets. They also held a cake stall to raise funds to purchase food items for Christmas food parcels for the families. The items were then distributed by the mission to the families in time for Christmas, ensuring they have gifts for the children and festive food to share with everyone and help make it a happy time for all.
The Director of the House, Mr Dixon said, “As Director of Make House I am delighted with the way students have responded to our Christmas appeal to help local families over the festive period”.
