Parent Update
Hello KRMS families,
As we end our December Recess, I wanted to reach out and wish families a safe and healthy new year. I am very thankful to work with such incredible educators, and serve the great families within our communities.
Things continue to be busy here at KRMS. Winter sports, robotics, and drama club are all underway. A reminder to middle school families that students participating in KRMS sponsored activities need to keep their work habit grades in good standing to continue their involvement on teams and organizations.
Although we understand we have a lot of work left to do this year, this is also the time of year that we start to work with the high school for our 8th graders transition to the high school next year. 8th grade parents, PLEASE begin to look for messages from Lara Crane from the high school. Our transition to high school is something our 8th grade teams take very seriously. There will be multiple activities and meetings upcoming with students to properly prepare them for a successful start to their freshman year.
Our second KRMS school dance will be held on Friday January 26th from 6:00-8:30 pm in our school gym. The cost is $5.00. Only students who have been in attendance the day of the dance are permitted to attend. Students may bring a guest only if the guest is a 7th or 8th grader and the KRMS students have obtained permission from the administration (forms available in the office) at least 24 hours before the day of the dance. Students are not allowed to leave a dance early unless previously arranged. Administration may prohibit attendance at dances or extracurricular activities due to misbehavior. Parents, please pick up promptly. Students are expected to follow the KRMS Dress Code. No outside food or drinks are allowed inside during a dance. Drinks and snacks can be purchased. There is transportation provided to and from the dance. There is a $2.00 for each way that must be paid when you arrive and leave the dance. The Ossipee bus stops at the Ossipee Town Hall at approximately 5:30 PM and at Court House Square in Ossipee at 5:40 PM. The New Durham bus leaves from the New Durham School at 5:30 PM.
As we move into this new year, it is a good time to review our school wide expectations. Teaching behavioral expectations and recognizing students' expected behavior is an important part of a child's education and helps them be successful in school. KRMS's motto of being Kind, Respectful, Motivated and Safe has been our guide this year. When we return from vacation , we will be implementing an incentive program to reward students for kind behavior. It is our hope that this will motivate students by providing rewards when they make kind choices and use kind words. Stay turned for updates.
Thank you all for your continued support and cooperation.
Sincerely,
Kerry Hunt
