Superintendent's Fun Run

The ninth annual CFISD Superintendent’s Fun Run, underwritten by Memorial Hermann Cypress, will take place at the Berry Center on April 9, 2022.

Proceeds from the Superintendent’s Fun Run benefit the Cy-Fair Educational Foundation (CFEF), which awards student scholarships and staff development grants. Because of the generosity of our community, $120,000 was awarded to the CFEF for student scholarships after the May 1, 2021 virtual event.

2022 Superintendent Fun Run Registration is now open!

Lost and Found

Have you been searching the house for your child’s missing jacket or lunch kit?

We have quite a collection of found items that we have on display in the cafeteria. Students will have an opportunity each day during lunch to look through the items to reclaim things that belong to them. It is getting cooler outside, and jackets will be needed.

Please remind your child to look for missing items. Thank you for your support.

News From The Nurse

The school clinic is in critical need of new boy’s underwear in sizes 4-14. Any briefs, boxer briefs or boxers will be accepted. Also, we need pants or shorts for boys and girls in sizes 4-14. We use the items to change students who have accidents during the school day who may not have an extra change of clothing. Thank you in advance for your support to the Andre’ School Clinic.

Counselors' Corner

Core Essential Value

The Core Essential Value for March is “cooperation.” Cooperation means working to do more than you can do alone. Ask your student, “have you ever had to ask a friend to help you with something? Have you ever been asked by a friend to help them do something? How did it feel to work together to accomplish a goal?” You can sit down as a family and discuss each member’s role and responsibility in maintaining a clean and functional house. Together, create or refine a chore list. Assign age appropriate tasks to each member, even involving very young children (an example might be to pick up toys and put them in a basket every night before bed.) Promote this as a positive, not a consequence. It is an opportunity for everyone to cooperate because a lot more can be done together than alone.

Career Week

Calling all parents!!! We will be having career week in April and are in need of parent volunteers to present on Thursday morning, April 7th to Andre’ students. Please email brian.finnerty@cfisd.net if you are interested in presenting a short (10 min.) presentation to students about your career! We need all different types of careers and trades, so please email if you’re at all interested. We greatly appreciate all help!

Words From the Library

Did you know……the Andre’ Library has 19,207 books?! It’s true! During the month of February, 3,959 books were checked out to students! Wow! That is a lot of reading!

Great job Andre’ Leopards!

Be on the look-out for overdue notices from the library. If your students receive one, please help them look at home so the books can be returned ASAP. Thanks for your help!

Notes from the front desk

Absences

If your child is absent, please send a note on the first day of your child’s return to school stating the reason for the absence. Thank you.

Transportation Changes

If a child’s end-of-day transportation changes, the parent/guardian must send a note with the date, necessary changes and parent/guardian signature. If a note is not received, the usual method of transportation will be followed.

For safety purposes, no changes will be made after 3:45 P.M. and PHONE CALLS or E-MAILS CANNOT BE ACCEPTED.

Student Council
