#ToroFamily
Happy Monday everyone! We hope you all had a great week and weekend. As I am sure all of you have, we have been thinking a lot about everything currently going on in our nation and what role(s) we can/should play in it. I will save you from a Clausen Manifesto but we as a school have been looking for ways that we can support our students and families of color during this time. I also think many of our students are not sure what to do with their feelings and ideas during such a tumultuous time in history. I know many of you have had some great conversations with your students and some of you have carried these over even into the summer. Julie and Kari are continuing to host Wellness Wednesday and O'Malley has been posting some great resources on our website for families. If there is something you would like to share, a resource you have found, or anything that would support our students and/or families during this time, please let us know. We will be sending out some ideas for families in the newsletter.
I have been SO encouraged to see our young people mobilize and organize in support of their classmates and neighbors. Over the summer we will be working on some ways we can incorporate some of this energy and support into our curriculum next year. I saw a great sign that was *NSFW it said "You have "messed" with the last generation." I was encouraged by its sentiment and hopeful and thankful that our students have all of you to help support them and guide them through this time. Have a great week!
Updates for the Week...
District Task Forces have been assembled and meetings are happening to design and develop our plan for coming back in the Fall. I will not speculate here but we have some ideas and if you are on campus you can check out my whiteboard. I believe the timeline is to have a plan go to the board at the end of the month. We will keep you up to date as more info comes out.
Grades
Report cards were mailed home last week and students either have already received them or will be this week. If you have students asking, please let them know.
