to Support Classoom Instruction

What is TexQuest?

With shared funding from the state legislature, the Texas State Library and Archives (TSLAC) offers online instructional resources for K-12 students in Texas public and charter schools- TexQuest!


The resources included in TexQuest are:



  • Sixteen databases from Gale/Cengage
  • Two historic archives from Adam Matthew Digital
  • Three online encyclopedias from Encyclopedia Britannica


TexQuest resources include full- text magazines and E-books, articles from reference books, newspapers, and journals, videos, images, audio files, historical materials, and web links.

Searching on TexQuest

The resources in TexQuest are not available on the open web and are selected specifically for students. Many of them align with the state curriculum standards. Students can search by content or reading level and use features to have resources read aloud, translated, linked, and/or downloaded.
