We also recently received more book donations from Putnam so look for those to be on the shelves soon!

Did you know?

I can help you teach your students how to cite their sources. Students should be citing where they get information for any research projects, so let me take that burden off of your shoulders! If a works cited page is to be part of their grade I can even grade it for you.

Also please consider teaching your students to use copyright free images and videos for any presentations they do. The high school has put together an excellent list of copyright free resources. I will be linking to this from our library page as well.

Library Success Stories

The 6th grade reading classes came down for some book talks and book trailers. Students enjoyed hearing about books that we have in the library and my cart of books was very empty by the end of each day!

Call or email me to schedule some book talks for your class. It can be something short if you don't want to use a whole period, or focused on a certain topic or genre.

What Are Databases and Why You Need Them
Kids Infobits provides access to news and magazine articles about a large variety of topics. Students can search for their topic or use the visual menu to browse.

Search results are broken up into books (bibliographies), pictures, magazine articles, and news articles. The articles include word count and lexile levels to help you and your students choose.

Articles include citations and text to speech features that will read it aloud.

The Wonder of the Day

Come see the wonder of the day from Wonderopolis.org posted to our library window every day. Right now it is simply a display, but I will be brainstorming ways to engage the students with this information in the future. If you would like to plan a lesson with this engaging website I can help you out!
