Student Growth Objectives
It is time to start the process of creating two (2) Student Growth Objectives (SGOs). SGO's are to be specific and measurable academic goals that are aligned to standards. Staff will have time allotted to work on SGO's at the October 11th professional development day.
SGO's need to be submitted into Realtime for admin approval by Monday, October 21st.
The process can be broken into 3 simple steps:
* Step 1 - Choose or develop a standards-aligned assessment
* Step 2 - Determine student starting points
* i.e. - active participant, academic independence, and class attendance
* Step 3 - Set ambitious and achievable goals
* When setting goals, differentiate targets for students based on their starting points
Below is an SGO overview for staff to assist you in the process:
I will resend an email from last year to assist you in all aspects of the Student Growth Objective (SGO) from creating, reviewing, and submitting results in Realtime.

Young artists also are encouraged to submit original artwork depicting a scene from the story as part of the contest.
Please check out the official start of the Halloween writing contest in Sunday’s newspaper and encourage your students to take part. Winners receive a prize and will have their work published in print and online.

Observations
Classroom observations will begin soon. Please see the attached schedule. You are to submit your SGO and PDP to the person you are meeting with for your summative evaluation. Please see Michele with any questions or concerns.
Classroom Observation Schedule 2019-2020 School Year
All Teachers should schedule a time with Michele to review curriculum for their grade/subject areas. This meeting will include receiving a hard copy of the curriculum that you will be responsible for until June. These documents will be used to reflect on the curriculum, add to the curriculum or just check off that it is accurate. The documents will be signed out and collected at the end of the school year.
Detention
Please refer to the link below for the detention schedule in GOOGLE. When assigning a student detention, either 45 minute or 3 hour, please refer to schedule for detention dates. After you contact the parent you should add the student(s) name to the detention schedule accordingly. 45 minute detentions are from 3:30 to 4:15 and 3 hour detentions are from 3:30-6:30 pm.
