Awesome Volunteers
I want to say a huge THANK YOU to a wonderful group of ladies who have worked tirelessly in the library doing all kinds of tasks. They shelve books, help children find books, run the circulation desk, read aloud to classes, organize the Birthday Book Club, and so much more. It would be impossible to keep the library program running smoothly without their help! Thank you to Tobi Cameron, Jan Eicke, Kimberly Haun, Leslie Hayes,
Britney McKee, Valerie Peterson, Jenny Phillips, and Sylvia Sia
A Very Busy Place!
We instigated a new counting system to see how many children visit the library each day. When students come to the library alone or in small groups they place a Domino in a basket. At the end of the day we can see how many children came. We have anywhere from 40 to 90 children visit the library each school day. They come to check out books, use computers, finish classwork, do research, or just read for pleasure. The library is a very busy place!
Why Do We Read?
Teachers are answering the question, "Why do we read?" on the morning announcements each week. We have found that they read for pleasure, to learn, to find out how to do things, and for their jobs. Why do you read? What do you read? Talk about what you enjoy reading with your child!
