Dear Longhorn families,
We are heading into the last full month of school! Can you believe it is finally May? I think we are just waiting on the weather to turn around :)
Congratulations to all of the hard-working 5th graders. The wax museum turned out amazing!
We are excited that the outdoor Art Show is happening this week! Take time to view the art displayed that the students' worked hard on.
We will celebrate the teachers this week with dress-up days! See below for the list of days.
PTA will have a meeting this Tuesday night on zoom. Join us if you can! The carnival is coming together and we will have our silent auction items ready for bidding soon!!
Finally, the district is asking for feedback if your student/s has worked with a title 1 or reading support teacher this year. Survey link:https://forms.gle/iF1MEFT82Rr7TSjP9

Scholastic Book Fair
SAVE THE DATE!
The Scholastic Book Fair is coming up soon! The in person fair will be May 11 from 3:30-6pm and May 12 from 2:30-6pm. We will also offer shopping hours during the school day for kids to shop on their own (see eWallet details below). In addition, the Online Book Fair will run May 9-May 22 (look for this link in upcoming newsletters). All purchases help to get new books for the library!
Scholastic offers eWallet as a convenient payment option. You can set up eWallet online for your family and allow your child to shop for the books of his/her choice independently and rest assured they cannot spend over the limit and will not have to carry cash. Any unspent funds can be used in the Scholastic Store online or saved for the next book fair. With eWallet you can also share a link with grandparents, friends, or others who may be looking to purchase gifts for your child. eWallet is free and can be set up anytime before the book fair at https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bookfairs/parent-how-it-works.html?fairID=5217349
Please contact Mrs. Morey if you have questions or would like to volunteer to help at the Book Fair this year!

ATTENDANCE
Please remember the importance of your student arriving on time each day. School starts at 7:50 and the tardy bell rings at 7:55. If students arrive late they must enter through the front office door. After school students need to return home to check in before playing on equipment. The BASP program has access to the playground until 6:00 pm each day after school. Any student on the playground without supervision will be sent home.
An attendance reminder: students who have more than 5 tardies, or 8-10 absences will need to have a meeting at the school to see what supports we can put in place to support school attendance.
Masks remain a requirement for all students, staff, and visitors to our schools. In addition, we highly recommend that all eligible individuals receive the COVID-19 vaccine. For individuals that have received the vaccine, we strongly encourage you to get the booster. Boosters are now available for those age 12 and older. For individuals five years of age and older who have not yet received the COVID-19 vaccine, this vaccine locator may be used to find a provider near you.
