LEARN
Coaches' Corner Part 1
NewsELA has opened their full site to MCS teachers through the end of the school year. Its an awesome resource for grades 3-12 that can be differentiated by Lexile. Articles area also downloadable, so teachers may link from Google Drive to their Schoology pages.
Go to https://newsela.com/and log in using your MCS Google Email. Here is a link to support getting started
Coaches' Corner Part 2
Troubleshooting for Digital Learning:
- If your students are not able to login onto to Schoology and they are using a phone or tablet they must download the Schoology app. The website will not work
- Check links to resources on pages; if the link doesn’t work, click on the title
- If you are doing instructional videos check the audio to make sure students can hear you teaching the lesson or talking through the process
- Record yourself in video/audio and then listen to it to make sure you can hear yourself
- Try to organize your topics in folders
- Add specific directions to lesson pages for parent guidance. This is new for a lot of our parents

I pre-saved backdrop photos from the Ga Aquarium so that I could add them to my folder. I followed these steps to change my backdrop as we took a virtual tour of the aquarium.
5. When you have chosen the desired backdrop, just click the X at the top and it will appear until you change it back.
