A full week of school!
Amazingly, we were able to get through an entire week of school without any weather interruptions. If you and your child are like me, routine is a big part of being successful. When I am not in a routine at school, I am out of sync for my entire life. Hopefully getting back in to the swing of things will get all of us- students, staff, and families- back into a routine of successful academics and behavior.

Writers' Workshop
Above you can see pictures of charts from Miss Francoeur's room that help to guide our 8th graders in the writing of argument essays. The students are working to develop an argument to persuade their audience. I have had the privilege of reading some of these essays as well as the writing of students in all of our grade levels. The students and teachers are doing an awesome job with their writing.

Digital Learning Week
Wednesday, February 5th was Digital Learning Day in Merton and all over the world. Merton has extended this to Digital Learning Week. I was able to check into a number of classrooms and the pictures are above. It was great seeing classes buddy with one another and the sharing that occurred this week. Next week on Thursday, February 13th we'll be having an assembly at the end of the day to celebrate all of the Digital Learning Day activities we have had this week.
Parents Act Now! website now open
As you are aware, our students are taking part in an anti-bullying program run by Children's Hospital of Wisconsin call Act Now! This is an online program that we use here at school. There is now an addition to this program called Parents Act Now! You can learn more about this at www.ParentsActNow.com. Please check out this site when you have a moment. We will be having a focus group some time in March so I will be asking for volunteers to attend so that Children's Hospital can get your feedback regarding the program.
