Does Your Child Shine?
We are excited to announce that the Turner Creek Talent Show is back! All grades are welcome. We encourage your child to consider a variety of talents, such as, singing, dancing, playing a musical instrument, sports demonstrations, science, comedy, etc. Individual and group acts can be up to 2 minutes.
The show will be held Thursday, December 13th at 6 pm in the gym. Rehearsals will be held on Tuesday, November 27th and Thursday, November 29th at 4 pm right after school in the gym.
Please fill out the online form to register your child for the show:
http://www.surveygizmo.com/s3/4118170/Talent-Show
The deadline to register is Friday, November 9th. Each act only needs to register once (e.g., only one registration needed for a group act); each child can only register for one act. Only 25 acts will be allowed to participate; if more than 25 acts register, a random number generator will be used to select 25 acts. We look forward to seeing everyone at the show!
2018-2019 REFLECTIONS ART PROGRAM: “Heroes Around Me”
Pull out your paint, film, and dictionary. Dust off your camcorder and musical instruments, and put on your dancing shoes, it’s time for the 2018-2019 PTA Reflections Program!
This program is sponsored by the National PTA and recognizes outstanding student works in six art areas: visual arts, literature, musical composition, photography, film/video production, and dance choreography.
The theme for this year is: “Heroes Around Me”.
If your child is interested in participating, please complete the Reflections information form that is being sent home to all students, and return it to his/her teacher or the front office by Friday, October 12.
If your child is on Track 4 and will be trackedout during this time, you can either drop off the form at the front office, or you can emails us the information that is requested on this form by Thursday, October 25. Our contact email is: tcereflections@gmail.com. There is a flier at the bottom of this RR.
Once you turn in the intent form, we will provide you the next steps that will need to be taken to participate in the Reflections program. For your reference, the Wake County PTA Reflections website that has more information about the program is:
http://www.wakepta.org/reflections-201819.html
All artwork needs to be turned in by Thursday, November 8. Please remember artwork must be new original works of art inspired by the current theme. Our judging will be before the holiday break and the winning art will be sent to the next level of competition. We will have a Reflections Celebration later in the school year; details will be sent home closer to that time.
