LEAP Class Creates Mold Terrariums
Ms. Mathis' LEAP class created Mold Terrariums recently. They observed and took data over twelve days to discover which conditions will make food mold the fastest, as well as which conditions will stop/slow the food from molding. Each mold terrarium contained a piece of bread, orange slice, apple slice, and a strawberry. There was a control terrarium, a second also contained salt, the third also contained sugar, and the fourth bag contained both salt and sugar. Terrarium 2, with salt added, grew the most mold. Terrarium 3, with sugar added, grew the least mold. So fun, yet so gross!
Leaves of Thanks
2020 has been a challenging year for many. Due to Covid-19 many of us have faced several obstacles that we have not seen before. In rough times like these, it is so important we remember how lucky we are to be alive and that we have so many things to be thankful for.
The PBIS team looked for a visual way to bring our in person Conrady Jaguars and Remote Community together. Staff shared with students what they are most grateful for in spite of this crazy covid world and invited their students to do the same. Their thoughts were hand-written on a leaf by staff volunteers and added to our Kindness Tree at our front entrance.
Even though some of us are physically separated right now from our friends, our teachers and our Jaguar Family we have this beautiful reminder that we are together in spirit. -Together in our ability to dream for a safer and healthier world. -And together in our thankfulness for the things that are closest to our hearts.
Messages from the Nurse's Office
Attention Eighth Grade Parents
8th grade students will be receiving a hearing and vision screening over the next few weeks. If your child wears glasses please remind them to have and wear them at school.
Attention Sixth Grade Parents
6th grade dental requirements are fast approaching. If you need to make an appointment with the dentist please do so. If you have not turned in the exam report please turn it into Conrady's office. All 6th graders are required by the state to have a dental exam.
If your 6th grader is still missing their physical or any immunizations please follow up with your doctors office. Some offices have received the required vaccines.
Keep children home if they are sick
Please remember to keep your child home from school if they have any flu like symptoms or COVID symptoms. Students are required to be symptom free for 48 hours and cleared by the COVID team prior to returning to school. Students should join their classes remotely if they are able to. Thank you for keeping our students and staff healthy.
