W.E.B. DuBois
Discrimination & Segregation
Main Idea
W.E.B. DuBois devoted his life to putting an end to segregation and racial discrimination. He was the first African American to earn a doctorate degree from Harvard. After graduating he took on multiple teaching positions where he also conducted sociological experiments on social reform.
Impact
DuBois quickly became the prominent leader of the civil rights movement and was given the name "Father of Pan-Africanism". In 1909, DuBois and many others created the NAACP. He also wrote many influential books on social equality that are very profound even today.
What's On Your Mind?
African American men should not be discriminated against anymore, and be equal with all other males.
