The Tiger Times
Week of: March 7, 2022
Hello Tigers!
We hope everyone enjoys the nice, spring-like weather this weekend! Students should remain focused on school for the next three weeks leading up to spring break. As a reminder, any students interested in trying out for spring sports must register on the website 8to18 and see Mrs. Gonzalez in the main office to receive a gold card indicating that they have a valid physical on file.

Bowling Night
The Elmwood Park Boosters Club will be hosting a Bowling Fundraiser Night at Forest Park Lanes. This is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year and the funds raised go to help support EPHS Sports. The cost is $35 per person and includes bowling, shoes, and food. There will be a bar to purchase drinks so please note that this is for adults 21 years and older only. There will be raffles and split the pot as well. And best of all...A LOT OF FUN!
Hope to see you there! Please see attached registration form for more details and instructions.

SAT School Day Testing - April 13, 2022
On April 13 all 9-11 grade students will participate in either the PSAT 9, PSAT 10 or SAT (juniors) assessment. This assessment is required by the state of Illinois for students in public education. In order for students to receive a high school diploma they must have taken the SAT either their junior or senior year. Seniors that took the SAT last year will be excused from attendance on this day.
WANT PRACTICE?
Link your College Board and Khan Academy accounts for more individualized SAT Prep. Khan Academy is a FREE tool with full-length practice exams, and immediate score feedback.
STRATEGIES TO CONSIDER:
1. Balance & Pace: Study consistently rather than cramming.
2. Timing: Attempt to time yourself in your practices to ensure you get a good rhythm/pace.
3. Prepare for success, but don't stress. The SAT School Day is a school based opportunity to take the exam. You can retake the SAT later if you wish. If you have concerns, please reach out to your counselors.
