Cougar "Prints"
Week of November 26
Welcome Back!
Good morning! How'd you sleep?! More so, how was waking up this morning? :) - You are really going to hate me if it was tough for you because, for me, it was easy. It was easy because I was excited to see you all this morning, to welcome the students, and to knock out these next 3 weeks with purpose and vigor.
I missed you all! I hope this message finds you relaxed after the holiday week's end. We have a good time with the family, got out holiday decorations up inside and out, and capped it off with a trip last night to Winterfest at Carowinds - it was a blast.
As you know, the stretch from Thanksgiving Break to Winter Break comes with it a lot of excitement, but also some anxiety. It is tremendously important that we maintain consistency for our students all the way to December 18 at 3:15 pm. Many of our students are not returning to us this morning with the same level of excitement I address you within this message. Many are thankful to be back to their "safe place" and the thought of a two-week extension in a few weeks may be daunting and bring with it complexities many of us may never understand.
Please limit "class events" until one of those last two days either the 17th and 18th. And, as a reminder, those events should be fun in nature, but also relevant to your grade level curriculum and learning progressions. If you need any help aligning your ideas to those expectations, please do not hesitate to ask - we will be happy to help out.
Safety Reminders
2. All interior doors must be locked at all times - classroom doors may be open if occupied, but still should remain locked.
3. ID badges must be worn at all times.
4. During parent lunch visits, student friends or other family members are not allowed to move and sit with the visitors - if you have any questions, please let me know.
5. Continue to know how each and every one of your students leaves each and every day.
