Message from the WGHS Admin Team
Dear Parents, Guardians, and Caregivers,
It’s March! We have been so excited about the possibility of warmer weather coming soon. This weekend's winter storm is hopefully the last. Our spring sports teams are already getting outside to practice when they can and musical rehearsals are also in full swing. We can’t wait to see all of our students back on stage.
Keep your eyes out for ticket sales for Beauty and the Beast as it is sure to be a fantastic show! We are sending all of our WGHS support to the boys track athletes competing at Nationals this weekend and also to the boys varsity hockey team competing at States. Go get ‘em!
Sincerely,
The WGHS Administrative Team

National Honor Society Candidates
Freshman and Sophomores! In a few years you will be eligible to apply for the National Honor Society and you will need community service as well as WG extracurricular involvement! As we move into spring and sunshine, please remember to give to others by donating your time and energy and give back to our community. There are so many opportunities in Camillus and in Onondaga County. Also as a school, we have so many clubs, activities, and opportunities available to have fun and connect in our Wildcat community. See Mrs. Ostrander in C115 for ideas! Please visit the following link for volunteer ideas! https://www.westgenesee.org/west-genesee-high-school/career-center/career-center-volunteer-opportunities/
Remember..."Volunteerism is the voice of the people put into action. These actions shape and mold the present into a future we can all be proud of!" (Helen Dyer).
All Night Party Info for Senior Parents!
In the past the Parent Teacher Student Association has been responsible for the planning of the “After Ball Party”, which typically follows the Senior Ball. Past parties have included a casino, game shows, caricatures, food, bingo, raffles, and a hypnotist.
We are happy to be teaming up with Witty Wicks for a fantastic fundraiser for our kids. The virtual fundraiser features 12 different candles, with the PTSA earning $6 for each candle sold. The sale is already in progress and will end on March 30th. The person purchasing the candle will have a choice of shipping the candle to them (for an additional charge) or picking it at Witty Wicks for no additional charge.
Please share the link with family and friends.

West Genesee 13th Annual Culture Fair
The 13th Annual Culture Fair was a huge success! We cannot thank the WG community enough for the overwhelming amount of support. The bake sale alone raised $2,000 to support Ukraine. There were also car loads full of donations that arrived during the fair. Thank you to the families who organized tables, made delicious food, and shared about their culture with our community.
Thank you to all of the groups that performed, donated food and water for the event, the students who volunteered to help run the event, our artists who face painted and crafted with kids, our amazing custodians, the student button makers, the WG Boosters, and the PTA/PTOs! We are so grateful for all of you. We hope to continue this WG tradition and it is all of you who make it possible!
