Newsletter - Term 2, Week 7
Friday, 17th June 2022
Principal
Kia ora koutou,
This week our school (along with many other surrounding schools) were hit by significant illness. It was predicted this year that the flu season would have a significant impact on student health and wellbeing. The best we can do at present is to enable our students to have plenty of rest and down time while they recover. While this normally impacts students for a day or two but we are seeing students being struck down for longer periods of time - 5 days or more.
Winter Weather Decisions
Just a reminder that as we head into winter we will make calls around snow days or buses being affected by ice early on in the mornings (6.30am). Any decisions to close the school for the day or buses having a later start will be made via our school app and school Facebook page.
Nga mihi,
Simon Bell

What are school boards?
All of New Zealand's state and state-integrated schools have a school board which is the Crown entity responsible for the governance of the school.
The board:
- ensures every student can reach their highest possible standard in student achievement
- is the employer of all staff in the school
- sets the school's strategic direction in consultation with parents, whānau, staff, students and the wider school community
- is responsible for overseeing the management of personnel, curriculum, property, finance and administration
