Classroom News!
March has arrived and we have merrily begun the transition to our study of Dr. Seuss. With their colorful and whimsical illustrations and rhyming words, Dr. Seuss books are a tremendous draw for children of this age.
This week we:
* We read "One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish" and created our own colorful fish with primary colors in the artistic style of Dr. Seuss.
* Went to see "Princess and Pauper Bollywood style" at Imagination Stage to celebrate the end of our Fairy Tale unit that concluded last week.
* We read "Mr. Brown Can Moo Can you?" a story that is full of sounds and rhymes. The children were introduced to the word Onomatopoeia-a word that phonetically imitates the sound that it describes like crash and bang. The children found great pleasure finding these words in there books and thinking of their own.
* At Writing Workshop we learned about writing books that teach. For this we need to plan what we want say on each page. We really encourage our young authors to think, plan, write and elaborate!

Announcement
On Wednesday March 21st Kindergarten will be celebrating "Wacky Wednesday." In the past children have enjoyed wearing their clothes inside out or backwards and/or wearing miss-matched shoes and socks. We all look forward to a fun and wacky day.
Please keep the following in mind:
- Your child can be creative but safe shoes and appropriate clothes are necessary for outside time and PE.
- It would be best not to send your child in tights, because one art activity involves the children using their bare feet.
Thank you!
