Career Exploration
For this, I found Marketing to fit most. Marketing interests me because I want to promote and sell products of my own.
Career Research
Marketing is the activity or business of promoting and selling products or services, including market research and advertising. Doing the research, my best option for a job in this field would be a Marketing Manager. Marketing managers plan programs to generate interest in products or services. They work with art directors, advertising, sales agents, and financial staff members. The majority of these occupations require a bachelor's degree in marketing.
Education Planning
For this job, I would need to get a four-year bachelor's degree in Marketing. To do this, I could go to East Carolina University in Greenville or Methodist University here in Fayetteville. Both of these school have the option for me to get a bachelor's degree in marketing.
Comparing Programs
East Carolina explains that their school is a "college of business". Their website states, "Many students with a concentration in marketing have gone on to successful careers in the fields of advertising, sales management, business marketing, research, distribution retail management, product planning, services, and international marketing." Meanwhile, Methodist says on their website, "Marketing majors from Methodist University graduate prepared to begin graduate study or for entry-level positions in areas such as marketing management, digital marketing, marketing communications, and sales."

Cost of Education
If I choose to go to East Carolina, the average tuition cost after financial aid would be $16,162 annually. The average cost before the financial aid would be $23,813. However, if I were to choose to go to Methodist, the average cost after financial aid would be $18,855. The average cost before the financial aid would be $55,016.

Financial Aid and Scholarships
Going to East Carolina, I could apply for the Carolyn M. Cuddy Memorial scholarship. This scholarship is $1,500 and will be awarded to a full time incoming freshman based on academic merit with a projected 3.0 GPA and demonstrated financial need. Going to Methodist, I can apply for the Commuting Transfer Presidential Scholarship (Fall 2024-Spring 2025) which will award me with $15,500 having a 3.0-3.39 GPA.

Final Reflection
I am going to choose to go to Methodist and apply for the scholarship. I will be able to earn my bachelor's in Marketing as well as getting a good amount of money to help me out. I think this choice will benefit me and allow me to get a good paying job after I go through with getting my degree.
