Child labor and Proverty
Poverty is the state of being extremely poor and can't provide for yourself or your family, child labor is when people make children work when they're not at the rightful age to work.
Child labor started in the 1700's and the early 1800's during those times poverty was going on and not every family was earning the amount they needed to pay the taxes, and if some families don't find someone strong enough to work they wouldn't be able to survive therefore leading to child labor. child labor reached to it's extreme during the industrial revolution. But why use children? you may ask, well the reason for that is because their size allowed them to move in small spaces especially in factories and they were easier to manage and control. child labor ended in 1938 because congress passed the "Fair Labor Standards Acts" they realize it was too dangerous and risky. (Charles dickens talks about poverty and child labor in his book "Oliver twist").
During the industrial revolution textiles, machinery, worldwide of network of trade, and engineering was created and over the years it'll increase greatly.
Charles Dickens was a successful author, he was born February 7,1812. His parents are Elizabeth and John Dickens they had 12 children charles being second oldest, His father john worked in the navy but because he was careless with his money and wasn't able to pay taxes they took him to jail causing charles to go through child labor. Charles went to school for law but because he was a juvenile delinquent and hated law he quite and follow his dreams to become an author. His first was was Catherine hagàrth they both had 10 children together ( all dead). Charles Dickens main inspiration was his childhood and the people that was in his life. Believe it or not charles dicken big influence was William Shakespeare. Personally one of my favorite book that he wrote was the Christmas carol (the only book I've read). Charles Dickens died on June 9,1870 and left his legacy behind.
