This is a one-day event at Morley Field on Friday, September 23 at 4:00pm. The entry cost is $10 per athlete which includes a t-shirt. Payment is due on race day. Softball ⚾
We are happy to announce SPS will sponsor a girls softball team open to girls in grades 5-8 this fall. Ms. Jocelyn Cooke will be coaching the team. Practices will be on Mondays and Wednesdays at Morley Field from 3:30-5:00pm. Permission slips are available in the front office. The first practice will be Monday, September 12.
Are You Ready for Some Football? 🏈
We need more JV football players in grades 5 and 6 to round out the team. Flag football is a fun and competitive opportunity to learn new skills, play with your classmates and show off your Irish pride. It’s not too late to join. Practices for both JV and Varsity are Wednesday and Friday from 3:30-5:00. Permission slips are available in the front office. The season opener will be September 24.
Picture Day Wednesday, September 7 😁
Students should be in their Wednesday formal uniforms which means jumpers and white collared shirts for girls in grades K-5 and green polo shirts for boys in grades K-5. Junior High students wear their formal uniform which includes a white collared shirt, green vest, and green tie. Girls wear the skirt and boys wear pants. We will have extra ties and vests on hand for those whose Uniform Store orders have not yet come in. Order forms are included in the family envelope. Speaking of the Yellow Family Envelopes...
Please make sure to return the Family Envelope with completed emergency contact forms that went home last week as soon as possible. We need them back. Parents will be assessed a $2 fee on FACTS for unreturned envelopes, but more importantly, we need your child’s emergency information on file in the office.
Student Emergency Bags
We are committed to disaster preparedness. While we hope that we never have to implement a disaster response, we want to be ready should the need arise. We are requesting that each family provide items requested below for a Student Emergency Bag. The following items should be sent to school for your children in a Large Ziplock bag with your child's name and grade printed on it:
· 1 or 2 small, non-perishable snack items (ex. granola bars, fruit snacks, or apple)
· 1 utensil
· 1 bottle of water
Optional:
· Solar blanket
· Family photo
· “Reassurance note” from you as a source of comfort
Used Uniform Parent Coordinator
We are looking for a parent to serve as the used uniform coordinator. We have a number of recycled uniforms that must be washed and reorganized for distribution. This is a great opportunity to earn volunteer hours. Please let Mrs. Cross, in the front office, know if you are interested in taking on this responsibility.

How Can You Help?
SIGN UP TO VOLUNTEER
School families will earn PIP for donating their time to the festival. 10 hours are required from each school family to be worked during festival season. High school students can sign up to earn service hours, too. Fall Festival Volunteer Sign Up – Coming Soon
DONATE YOUR STUFF
It’s time to start collecting donations for North Park’s largest rummage sale known as Granny’s Attic which takes place in the Hall during the Fall Festival. This is a chance to unload items cluttering up your home. Please bring gently used clothing, toys, books, small furniture, and household items for us to resell. Please do not bring TVs or computer monitors as we must pay to have them recycled and taken away. Please also don’t bring couches as they are very hard to sell. Hangers for clothing are appreciated. We understand that there are special circumstances that may prevent a drop off on the established dates and times and we want to make this a seamless donation. If you are in need of drop off outside of these hours, please feel free to contact Mr. Manuel Martinez at martinezmr2@yahoo.com.
Established collection dates for Granny’s Attic are:
- September 10th and 11th from 1:00pm-3:00pm
- September 17th and 18th from 1:00pm-3:00pm
- September 24th and 25 from 1:00pm-3:00pm
- October 1st and 2nd from 1:00pm-3:00pm
LUCKY CHARMS 💎💍
If you have jewelry you never wear or have never liked, we can help you find someone who does. Donate your gently used jewelry to your child’s teacher the week of October 1, or school & parish any time prior to the festival. If you are a school parent, please put your name on the donation or wait until October to turn in your jewelry for the school collection contest. The class who collects the most wins a prize.
CAKEWALK 🍰
If you love to bake, we need your sweets! Donate baked goods (homemade or purchased) for the Fall Festival Cake Walk! Gluten-free, and dairy-free items will be happily accepted. Due to allergies please, NO NUTS.
BATTLE OF THE BEVERAGES
Please help by donating beverages. Each grade is responsible for bringing in soda or water. The class that brings in the most beverages will win a prize. More details coming soon.
